Conference Speakers

Mary E. Coughlin, MS, NNP, NCC-E, TIP, Caritas Coach®, is the president and founder of Caring Essentials Collaborative, LLC. Mary pioneered the concept of trauma informed, developmental care for babies, families, and professionals in the NICU. She’s a published author, a global leader, and, above all, a visionary who sees a future where healthcare is not just about treating symptoms but about healing hearts and souls.

Samantha Butler PhD is the attending Developmental and Clinical Psychologist and Director of the Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Program at Boston Children's Hospital. She is also the Director of the National NIDCAP Training Center and an Associate Professor in Psychiatry (Psychology) at Harvard Medical School. Samantha's research focuses on neurodevelopmental outcomes and supports for infants with congenital heart disease.

Marsha Campbell-Yeo, PhD, NNP is a world-leading researcher in neonatal, family-centered care and pain management from Nova Scotia, Canada. She is one of the founders of the international research group PEARL – Pain in Early Life – based at Örebro University, Sweden, conducting groundbreaking research and international collaborations to advance infant health.

Rebecca Chuffo-Davila, NNP-BC, TIP is a practicing neonatal nurse practitioner and researcher at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. Her research work has focused on implementing the concept of 'Listening Visits' into NICU practice to support mothers during the postpartum period.

Emily Hills OT, CNT, NIDCAP, NTMTC, TIP is a Clinical Specialist Neonatal Occupational Therapist at Starlight Neonatal Unit, Barnet Hospital, Royal Free London, NHS Foundation Trust, where she leads on developmental care, neurobehavoural, neurodevelopmental and sensory assessment and interventions, including follow-up after discharge.

Lindsay Hardy, PT, TIP has extensive experience as a paediatric occupational therapist, team leader, supervisor and mentor.
She is a content creator and educator for therapists and others in the field of paediatric occupational therapy, sensory integration, cerebral palsy, early intervention & developmental neurology. Together, with Emily Hills, they are committed to creating a more sensory informed world for babies and families. #CAREOUTLOUDLINDSAY

Eline de Groot PhD is a passionate researcher with extensive knowledge in the area of sleep and early brain development particularly in preterm infants cared for in the neonatal intensive care unit. Eline has a passion for interdisciplinary research that translates into clinical practice standards. Dr. de Groot speaks on international stages about the critical nature of sleep as a neuroprotective and trauma-responsive intervention for babies in the NICU.

Christy Gliniak PhD, OTR/L, CNT, CPXP, NTMC is associate professor at Fielding Graduate University for Infant and Early Childhood Development, holds a leadership role with the National Association of Neonatal Therapist, is a board member of the National Perinatal Association and has an affinity for research on trauma-informed care implementation in the NICU.

Kimberly Novod is the founder and director of Saul's Light, a New Orleans-based nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing the unique social-emotional needs of Louisiana’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and bereaved families.

As an equitable healthcare advocate and birth doula, Kimberly is most passionate about maternal mental health issues, prematurity, and infant loss in the Black community.

Diana Montoya-Williams MD, neonatologist from Children's Hospital Philadelphia.  Her passion centers around the drivers of racial and ethnic disparities in infant health outcomes and resilience in pregnancy.  Dr. Montoya-Williams actively engages in immigrant child health advocacy and is a medical podcaster.

Britt Pados PhD, NNP, IBCLC, TIP is a clinician, research, author, educator and founder of Infant Feeding Care, LLC.  The mission of Dr. Pados' research is to conduct clinically-relevant, high-impact, and innovative research on feeding-related problems in infants and young children.  Her clinical practice emphasizes wholistic, trauma-informed evaluation and support.

Kathi Randall, RN, MSN, CNS, NNP-BC is the founder of Synapse Care Solutions and NeuroNICU program consultant at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford University.  Her current work focus on 

Through Synapse Care, Kathi has created the Small Baby Nursing Quality Care Collaborative which is dedicated to transforming the care of small babies and their families.

Markus Wilken PhD, is a developmental psychologist and infant mental health professional from Essen Germany who works with babies and children with post-traumatic feeding disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. His focus is on the importance of re-establishing positive relationships with food, caregivers and self.
